In addition to my agricultural activities, we want to improve the farm’s wildlife habitat. Example projects include forest and stream rehabilitation, managing for invasive species, and possibly turning the fescue-infested pastures into native grass savannahs.
As with any project, there are more ideas than resources. The trick is to pick the ones that best fit the time and resources available. We’re trying to be patient and slowly grow into our new roles. To me, sustainable agriculture also means not killing ourselves physically or financially by trying to do everything at once.
