Since 2008, I have written nine successfully funded grant proposals including a National Science Foundation grant. These grants total over $900,000. The grants were for a combination of science communication / education projects and scientific research projects.
My National Science Foundation grant was to develop a pilot project for a new citizen science project where the public can watch archived videos of bats and assist scientists by identifying the behaviors they see in the videos. In addition to watching the videos and identifying behaviors, participants could also participate in online discussions with other participants and researchers.
