I will be one of the guest speakers for the Becoming 21st Century Leaders: Women in Beekeeping & Agriculture conference on Oct. 24-25, 2020. This conference is being held by LEAD for Pollinators and will be completely online due to local, state, and national health concerns. The goal of this conference is to bring together a hive of experienced, diverse, purposeful individuals to expand the opportunities for women (and men) as keepers of the ecosystem to support the health and sustainability of honey bees, native pollinators, and beekeeping. The conference will include 32 topics in leadership, business, and safety. Registration is required and opened on Aug. 1. My presentations are listed below.

Sharing Your Knowledge: Writing

Writing can be an exciting and fulfilling way to share your beekeeping journey and the knowledge you gain along the way. This session will discuss some of the different formats – such as books, articles, blogs, or social media posts – in which you can publish your writing. We’ll also discuss techniques and challenges associated with each format, as well as, general things to keep in mind regardless of your chosen format. Much of what is shared will be based on Shannon’s experiences writing her blog, writing and self-publishing her book, and in her former career, writing scientific articles and educational materials.
