Notes:

  • Deer browsing does not typically hurt smooth asters. It just makes them bushier.
  • Has a tendency to grow taller than “normal” in garden settings and may flop over.
  • Can be trimmed (i.e. artificially grazed) to keep shorter and promote bushiness.
